Derek Carr Signs Contract-Extension

5-year $125 Million ($40 Million Guaranteed)... Those are the numbers for QB Derek Carr's contract extension. This record breaking contract is much deserved as Derek Carr has been one of the best quarterbacks in the league for the past 3-years. Derek Carr may have the most potential in the NFL as he leads the Raiders at just 26-years old. Carr was a serious candidate for MVP throughout the Regular Season before breaking his fibula in 2016. Carr showed just how valuable he was after being ruled out for week 17 and the rest of the playoffs as the Raiders lost 2 straight games for the first time in the whole season (including the playoff lost to the Raiders). Next year you can expect Derek Carr to comeback even stronger with the addition of Beast Mode and Jared Cook to the Raiders offense. If someone told me that Jared Cook would be a top 5 fantasy tight end next year, I'd believe them. At WR the Raiders have a ton of talent with Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree, so you can expect Carr and the Raiders to be fine at wideout. For all you Fantasy geeks (Like Me) I'll give you a stat prediction for Carr, I think you can expect around: 4200 passing yards, 30 passing touchdowns, 8 interceptions, 100 rush yards, 2 rushing touchdowns, and 11 or 12 raider victories! Like I said in my latest podcast, you can realistically draft Carr in the 9th round but should be going around round 6. I think it's okay to reach for him and I would recommend you reach for him in your fantasy drafts... If you guys know anything about fantasy football is that you need to take risks to win and I think this is a risk you can cash in on. Derek Carr is a winner and can win you your fantasy league, this is a great move by the Raiders and can be a great move for you if you draft him. Below are his game-by-game stats from last season

These stats are insane! He had a 28 touchdowns compared to just 6 interception in just 15 games. I trust the Raiders OL to make sure that Carr won't re-injure his leg and with Lynch in the backfield I don't think the Raiders would have to rely on the Passing game as much. As much as I hate to admit it, the Raiders are back and are chasing a ring!
