Top Waiver Wire Pickups Week 2

Tom Brady QB Patriots

Tom Brady and the New England Patriots looked awesome, there's no other way to put it. They were hitting on all cylinders and he just looked unstoppable... Now imagine how he would look if you add the best receiver in the NFL to this offense. Pretty damn good. That is exactly what's going to happen. Antonio Brown is joining this offense and now Brady's weapons are AB, Josh Gordon, Julian Edelman, Phillip Dorsett (who had two touchdowns week one), and three running backs who can catch. Tom Brady will be able to throw the football and will put up much more points this year than he did last year. Also he has an awesome matchup week two. He's playing against a Miami Dolphins team that gave up 5 passing touchdowns to Lamar Jackson. Brady is going to light this defense up and will be a good option at quarterback this year.

Jamison Crowder WR Jets

Jamison Crowder has always been criminally underrated, and now with the Jets he has the opportunity to be Sam Darnold's number one wide receiver. Crowder caught 14 of 17 targets and had a rushing attempt. He is his go to guy in the slot and is making plays all over the field. If he can keep this connection that he has with Darnold, this makes him an automatic flex play. I love that he had 17 targets this week, it's an encouraging stat. You need to consider adding Crowder to your roster and maybe even just keeping him on your bench for this week.

John Brown WR Bills

Brown was one of my sleepers for your fantasy draft, and he looked amazing in week one. He was without a doubt, Josh Allen's number one target vs the Jets and there aren't much more playmakers in this offense. Brown is a great route runner and has burning speed. Brown can get behind the defense and is a huge weapon going forward for this offense. Brown caught 7 of 10 targets for 123 yards and had the game winning touchdown. His opportunity is encouraging and he's worthy of at least being on your bench for this next week.

Sammy Watkins WR Chiefs

Tyreek Hill will be out for a handful of weeks which opens up opportunities in the most high powered offense in the NFL. Watkins looked amazing with the ball in his hands and should be receiving even more opportunities next week. This week Watkins caught 9 passes on 11 targets had 198 yards and 3 touchdowns. Watkins potential is through the roof and looks to be the number one wide receiver for the Chiefs (not including Travis Kelce). Watkins is a must add if he's available in your fantasy leagues.

Terry McLaurin WR Redskins

I think this is an amazing opportunity for Terry McLaurin with the Redskins. In the game vs the Eagles he caught 5 of 7 targets for 125 yards and a touchdown. Case Keenum also missed him wide open for a would be 75 yard touchdown. Sooner than later Dwayne Haskins will be coming in at quarterback and I like that situation even more. They were college teammates so  you know the connection will be there. McLaurin will lead the Redskins receivers this year and is a must add for your fantasy team this week.

Stream Of the Week
TJ Hockenson TE Lions

TJ Hockenson is a beast. He had the best debut by a rookie tight end in NFL history and looks as advertised coming out of college. He's by far the most talented tightend Matthew Stafford has ever had. Hockenson caught 6 of 9 targets from Stafford and had 131 yards with one touchdown. The Lions are going to be throwing the football a lot this season and Hockenson will have a big role in this offense.
