Predicting the Top 10 Fantasy Quarterbacks Next Season
Honorable Mentions
Andrew Luck QB Colts
I think Andrew Luck will be a lot better than people expect this season. It is so hard to come back after missing a full year. Luck is in great shape and I think he will be back to top form in two years.
Patrick Mahomes QB Chiefs
I think this will be a developmental year for Mahomes. I expect Mahomes to show a ton of signs but just take time to get use to the speed of the NFL. Mahomes will use Kareem Hunt a lot in the pass game and I think he will air it out a ton next season.
Mitchell Trubisky QB Bears
I wanted to put Trubisky on this list so bad, but I think it will take a year to get used to the Nagy experiment. I am a big fan of what's going on in Chicago, but it will take a year to get going.
10) Phillip Rivers QB Chargers
I love having Phillip Rivers in fantasy football because you can always grab him in the later rounds. Rivers has one of the best receivers in the NFL with Keenan Allen which will help him big time this year. I expect Keenan Allen to have the best year of his career and be recognized as a top 3 receiver. I am a huge fan of Melvin Gordon and I think Rivers has a tremendous urge to get into the playoffs this year. I expect Rivers to be fantastic in 2018.
9) Deshaun Watson QB Texans
A lot of people have Watson a lot higher on their list, but I'm just being precautionary. Watson needs to limit the turnovers and if he can do that, I wouldn't be surprised if he's in my top 5 next year. Watson also plays in a division with the 2 best defensive lines in football. I love threat that his mobility gives him because it keeps the defense on edge. Deandre Hopkins is one of the best receivers in the NFL and he will help the 2nd-year quarterback out a lot next season. If Watson stays healthy in 2019, he may be one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.
8) Cam Newton QB Panthers
Cam Newton is one of the best fantasy quarterbacks of all time. He offers more consistent mobility than any quarterback has ever done. I think the addition of DJ Moore and the emergence of Christian McCaffery will really help this season. If Newton can get back to his having fun style of offense, he will be much higher on this list. I want to Newton dancing in the end zone a bunch next year. If Newton gets his swagger back expect the Panthers to be super bowl contenders and Cam Newton to be a top fantasy quarterback.
7) Russell Wilson QB Seahawks
Russell Wilson is the Lebron of the NFL. In Fortnite terms, he carries his team. There was only one touchdown that Russell Wilson didn't score for the Seahawks last season. I think they will rely on Rashaad Penny a little more this year and Russell Wilson won't have to use his magician like moves. I still like the mobility that Russell Wilson provides, being a 49er fan he makes me say "uh-oh" when he is on the move. I also believe that Wilson has the most underrated arm in the NFL, he has a CANNON! I think he will lean on Doug Baldwin a lot this season and make him a top 8 receiver in the NFL!
6) Jimmy Garoppolo QB 49ers
With all the research I have done on the 49ers this year, I am a full believer that Jimmy Garoppolo will have a phenomonal season this year. There is magic in this building and Jimmy Garoppolo is a big part of it. Jerick McKinnon will be a great receiving threat for San Francisco this year. Garoppolo has had time to create a connection with receivers like Pierre Garçon and Marquise Goodwin, and also has a full season to learn the Kyle Shanahan playbook. Jimmy G will have a tough schedule, but we saw what he did against the number one defense in the NFL last season. Garoppolo will be living up to the hype this year if he remains healthy.
5) Kirk Cousins QB Vikings
If I'm betting on a quarterback to have a breakout season, I am betting on Kirk Cousins. I think it will take Cousins a couple of games to get used to his receivers, but I think he will build chemistry with his receivers. Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs are both top receivers in the league which will be a huge help to Cousins. People also forget about having Dalvin Cook back to take some stress off his back. Cousins will also have a top red zone target with Kyle Rudolph and one of the best defenses in the NFL. Cousins is in a great situation and I expect him to break out his season.
4) Jared Goff QB Rams
Come on, Jared Goff is going to be a beast next year. With a number one receiver in Brandin Cooks and a year under his belt under Sean McVay's offense, Goff is bound to be successful. Let's not forget about him having a really good offensive line and the offensive player of the year. I expect Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp to be outstanding, the Rams have so much depth which will help Goff be consistent. Goff throws a beautiful deep ball and I think he will just keep getting better. Goff has a top defense, run game, and receiving core; he will be a beast next season.
3) Drew Brees QB Saints
Drew Brees has a ton of talent around him. I think the Saints will miss Ingram more than expected next year, but he won't be gone for too long. Michael Thomas will have a break out season and I expect Drew Brees to target him a lot more next year. Drew Brees plays in a very competitive division, but I think this could potentially be the year he brings the Lombardi to Louisiana. It is super bowl or bust for the Saints and Drew Brees will need to play his butt off this season. He has a target on his back and a chip on his shoulder, but Brees will be better than ever next season.
T-2) Tom Brady QB Patriots
I don't really need to write anything for Tom Brady, but I will. Brady is playing with a desire to win the super bowl after a heartbreaking loss. Even though they lost Danny Amendola, Brandin Cooks, and Julian Edelman (for the first 4 games) they did make a lot of additions to the offense. Sony Michel will be a beast and Isaiah Wynn will help keep Tom Brady clean. I think Braxton Berrios will be a sleeper in that offense and do very well. Brady has a healthy Gronk, but I am interested to see how he performs this year after missing offseason practice and spending more time with his family.
T-2) Carson Wentz QB Eagles
Carson Wentz must have so much fire coming into this upcoming season. Wentz didn't win the superbowl after an MVP caliber season and tore his ACL. Wentz is the best young quarterback in the NFL and is straight up special. Wentz has possibly the best tight end duo in the NFL and a great receiving core. Wentz will also have a great coaching staff, defense, and run game. Expect Wentz to be on his game this season.
1) Aaron Rodgers QB Packers
Aaron Rodgers is the most talented quarterback I have ever seen. I think it's safe to say, he has came as close as you can to mastering the quarterback position. Rodgers lost his top target this year which will make him that much more eager. Rodgers is now healthy and has arguably the best red zone target in NFL history with Jimmy Graham. I like what Rodgers has to work with this season. He has one of my favorite receivers, Davante Adams, who is unguardable and a young running back trio. I love the threats his running backs give him. Aaron Rodgers will be back at the top next season.
