Post-Combine NFL Mock Draft
-
Bengals Joe Burrow QB LSU- This is the closest thing to a lock that there is. Between Burrow’s confidence and his mental processing ability, he is everything Cincinnati needs. The Bengals are building a sneaky good offense with AJ Green, John Ross, Tyler Boyd, and Auden Tate at receiver and Joe Mixon at running back. This is a sleeper team.
-
Redskins Chase Young DE OSU- Similar to the 49ers, the Redskins are building there team through the defensive line. There front seven is going to get a whole lot stronger with the addition of Chase Young and Reuben Foster coming back from injury. Ron Rivera might have one of the best front sevens in the league next year.
-
Lions Isaiah Simmons ATH Clemson- Simmons is easily the most athletic player to come out of college since Saquon Barkely. Simmons is a freak athlete and if I’m the Lions I run this card in.
-
Giants Mekhi Becton OT Louisville- I believe this is a trade back opportunity for any team that wants to leap frog Miami for Tua. Becton is the best offensive lineman in the draft and the Giants get their guy to protect Daniel Jones for the next 10 years.
-
Dolphins Tua Tagovailoa QB Alabama- Tua Tagovailoa is tied with Joe Burrow as my number one quarterback in this draft. I don’t think Tua is a perfect fit in the Dolphins offense, but he’s too good to pass up. Tua is probably the best prospect I’ve seen coming out college (been scouting since 2013).
-
Chargers Justin Herbert QB Oregon- I really like this fit for Justin Herbert. I think the Chargers get a quarterback who’s extremely different than Phillip Rivers but in a good way. We saw that Rivers didn’t work in their offensive scheme, but Herbert can. Herbert will bring mobility and accuracy to LA.
-
Panthers Jeff Okudah CB OSU- This is a case of an amazing player falling into a perfect situation. With Bradberry most likely leaving in free agency, Okudah becomes the day one, number one corner. Okudah might be the best corner to come out of CFB since Jalen Ramsey.
-
Cardinals Tristan Wirfs OL Iowa- This was between CeeDee Lamb and Wirfs for me. This wide receiver class is so deep, which is why I think the Cardinals go offensive line here. Wirfs is super athletic which fits Kliff Kingsberry’s offense perfectly.
-
Jaguars Patrick Queen LB LSU- This is an other trade back scenario. With questions on Telvin Smith’s situation this year, Queen fits the team well. There aren’t a lot of needs for Jacksonville, so I think they can trade back and collect picks for future drafts.
-
Browns Jedrick Wills OT Alabama- The Browns are in desperate need of offensive line help and this is a great situation for them. Wills is a huge OT and will help protect Baker this year.
-
Jets CeeDee Lamb WR Oklahoma- The Jets have to get another WR this year so it just depends on who they have rated the highest. CeeDee Lamb has great hands and is deadly with the ball in his hands.
-
Raiders Jerry Jeudy WR Alabama- Jerry Jeudy fits the Raiders offense perfectly and can do what Antonio Brown was supposed to do with the Raiders. Jeudy is the best route runner in the draft and fits this offense like a glove.
-
Colts Henry Ruggs III WR Alabama- This is another trade back scenario, but the Colts need more offensive weapons. I think they wait until next year to go after a quarterback in the draft. If the Colts draft Ruggs they will have the fastest receiving core in the NFL.
-
Buccaneers Jordan Love QB Utah State- Jordan Love is a perfect fit for what Bruce Arians wants to do. Arians wants to throw the ball down field and Love’s calm demeanor works perfectly with Arians’ personality.
-
Broncos Derrick Brown DT Alabama- There is no way Derrick brown falls this far, but Denver can’t pass him up here. Brown is so dominant on the inside and this DL would resemble what it looked like back in 2014 with Miller and Chubb on the edge and Brown in the middle.
-
Falcons K’Lavon Chaisson EDGE LSU- Chaisson is a perfect fit for the Pete Carroll styled defense. He can play the LEO position and rush the passer. Chaisson is better than Vic Beasley when it comets dropping into coverage and he can provide the Falcons with exactly what they want.
-
Cowboys Javon Kinlaw DT South Carolina- This is a case of a monster of a player falling too low in the draft. There is no way the Cowboys can pass KInlaw up if he’s there at 17.
-
Dolphins Andrew Thomas OT Georgia- With the Dolphins trading Laremy Tunsil last year, they are in desperate need of a left tackle. In any other draft, Thomas is a top 10 pick, but the Dolphins get him here at 18.
-
Raiders Kenneth Murray LB Oklahoma- The Raiders need a lot of help on defense and they get a rangy linebacker here at number 19. Murray is a natural born leader and has a personality that fits the culture Jon Gruden is trying to build in Vegas.
-
Jaguars CJ Henderson CB Florida- This is a perfect fit for Jacksonville. Henderson is such a fluid DB and they desperately need a #2 corner opposite of AJ Bouye. Henderson has burning speed and will be able to run with the WR’s in their division.
-
Eagles Justin Jefferson WR LSU- Justin Jefferson is personally my favorite receiver in the draft. He is such a high-energy guy, a great route runner, and great with catching the ball vs contact.
-
Bills Yetur Gross-Matos EDGE Penn State- The Bills need both a number one edge rusher and a number one receiver. There is no position deeper than receivers in this year’s draft and with Shaq Lawson being a free agent, the Bills need an edge presence.
-
Patriots Xavier McKinney DB Alabama- Xavier McKinney is one of those guys who just stand out on tape. He is a hard hitter and was a leader on the Alabama defense. McKinney will be a weapon for New England who would move him all over this defense.
-
Saints Grant Delpit DB LSU- I think this is a potential trade back scenario, there is no urgent need with this team so I say they go best player available. Delpit is a legend in the New Orleans area and while this isn’t necessarily a big need, he kind of just fell perfectly into their lap.
-
Vikings Trevon Diggs CB Alabama- The Vikings desperately need cornerbacks. With Xavier Rhodes struggling and Trae Waynes being a free agent, Trevon Diggs may be joining his brother in April. Diggs is a great player and it would be legendary if he could reunite with his big brother.
-
Dolphins D’Andre Swift RB Georgia- Swift is looked at as the best running back in the class and this completes the Dolphins first round offense rebuild. They got their franchise quarterback, left tackle, and running back. This offense will be young, but has pieces for the future.
-
Seahawks AJ Epenesa DL Iowa- The Seahawks had the second least sacks in the NFL this season and they would be thrilled if they could grab Epenesa at 27. Epenesa is versatile on the defensive line and can play on both the edge and on the inside. This is a really good pick for the Seahawks.
-
Ravens Tee Higgins WR Clemson- The Ravens desperately need an other receiver on the outside and this is the draft to get one. Higgins has been quiet throughout the draft process, but he was consistently one of the best receivers in college football this entire year. Higgins would be a great addition for Baltimore and could potentially be a thousand yard receiver in his rookie season.
-
Titans Marlon Davidson DE Auburn- The Titans don’t have any pressing needs so they are potentially in a trade back scenario. You can never have enough pass rushers, so the Titans get the best one on the board here. Davidson is a bigger edge rusher who can provide variation from Harold Landry who is more of a speed rusher on the other side. Overall this would be a great pickup for Tennessee.
-
Packers Brandon Aiyuk WR Arizona State- The Packers biggest need this offseason is finding a true number two receiver on the other side of Davante Adams. Aiyuk would be the 6th receiver taken in the first round which shows just how good this receiver class is. Ayiuk is a physical receiver who can be used similar to Deebo Samuel. This would be a really solid pick for Green Bay.
-
49ers Kristian Fulton CB LSU- The 49ers will most likely trade out of this pick to get a couple day two picks, but if they stay put they can get one of the best corners in this class. Akhello Witherspoon had a lot of struggles this year and I think Fulton can provide really good competition with Emmanuel Mosley. This would be a good for San Francisco.
-
Chiefs Jonathan Taylor RB Wisconsin- This is one of my favorite picks in the entire first round. Taylor fits perfectly with what Andy Reid wants to do. Taylor is the fastest running back in this draft class and will be Patrick Mahomes’ bell cow back for years to come.
