Bill O'Brien Must Be Stopped

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. We have a really big problem in the NFL. The problem started on January 2nd, 2014, but has become worst in the past two seasons. This problem's first name is Bill and last name is O'Brien. Bill O'Brien is the most overrated head coach and simply the worst general manager in the NFL. The problem is really bad and for some reason Janice McNair, the owner of the Texans, isn't doing anything about it.

The first issue with O'Brien is the amount of power he has. He's both the head coach and the general manager of the Texans. The only other person with this much power over a team is Bill Belichick. Bill O'Brien does not know how to manage a team. O'Brien was hired in 2014 after a 2-14 season and drafted Jadeveon Clowney. Clowney showed that he can be one of the best pass rushers in the NFL when he's healthy. Instead of signing Clowney to a long-term deal they traded him. They didn't get a first round pick for the former number one overall pick, instead they got two backup linebackers and a third round pick.

Undoubtedly, the best thing that O'Brien has done was draft Deshaun Watson. I believe Watson is a top 4 quarterback in the NFL and is currently the face of the NFL along with Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes. You might be wondering, what else O'Brien has done with his first round picks since Watson. He's traded them to the Dolphins. He traded two first round picks, a second round pick, and more for their starting left tackle and a number three receiver. This was considered abuse. The Texans traded their future for two players. This was ridiculous, but what he's done today is just unforgivable. He traded literally a top 3 receiver and a 4th round pick. No, they did not receive a surplus of first round picks. Instead, they received a questionable running back with a ridiculous contract, a 2nd round pick, and a future fourth round pick.

Deandre Hopkins is one of those guys that you build your franchise around. He's in a tier with Michael Thomas and Julio Jones. THAT'S IT!

Outside of Michael Thomas he has the best hands in the NFL, outside of Davante Adams he has the best releases in the NFL, outside of Keenan Allen he has the best routes in the NFL, and he also has the best body control in the NFL. Hopkins is so good that he's making Bill O'Brien the punchline to every joke. This is not even funny how ridiculous of a move this is.

Bill O'Brien is a problem and he must be stopped, as soon as possible. Not only is he an awful general manager. He's also such an overrated head coach. He doesn't know how to use personnel packages and can't call plays to save his life. The only reason the Texans have been in the playoffs the last few seasons is because of Mr. Watson and Mr. Hopkins. The year is 2020 and play calling in the NFL revolves around analytics. O'Brien is one of the only coaches in the NFL that doesn't use analytics. It's ridiculous how conservative/ old school Bill O'Brien is. Bill O'Brien must be stopped.

Now I want to talk about David Johnson. Johnson is a guy who I still believe in and think he needed a change of scenery. I'm done talking about what the Texans gave up to get him, but I do like this fit. DJ is in a system that got Carlos Hyde 1,000 rushing yards last season. When it comes to fantasy football, David Johnson could potentially be an RB3. I like the David Johnson to Houston fit, but I'm going to have a hard time getting over what they gave up to get him.

For Deandre Hopkins, I think this is a very interesting move. I don't know if he is going to have the same amount of production as he had in Houston, but Arizona can have an electric offense in 2020. Kyler Murray is one of the best young quarterbacks in the NFL and he is going to have an insane jump in his sophomore year. Before this year, Kyler was the highest graded quarterback I've ever scouted. When it comes to fantasy football, I expect Murray's stock to sky rocket and Deandre Hopkins' to drop. Murray is one of my sleeper candidates for MVP in 2020, I think his rise will be that big.

I expect the Cardinals to go after Tristan Wirfs or Mekhi Becton with the 8th overall pick and be a playoff contender in the NFC (especially if there are 7 teams in the playoffs). I read this great quote on twitter by @TheFF_Educator, "If Bill O'Brien was in your fantasy football league, you'd suspect him of collusion." General managers across the NFL are taking advantage of Bill O'Brien's ignorance.

I'm speaking on the behalf of all Texans fans, Bill O'Brien must be stopped.
