The 49ers Swagger is Back!
The NFC West is one of the most brutal divisions in all of football. The Seahawks have one of the best quarterbacks in the entire NFL, the Cardinals are up and coming, and the Rams look unbeatable. But there is something going on in the bay area. It's almost like everything has clicked. The love in that locker room seems unbreakable and different than years past. It is like what the Falcons had in 2016, it's a brotherhood. Rookie DB DJ Reed was reportedly, surprised on how "unselfish" everyone was. While there can easily be haters, it is hard to not see the magic in the locker room.
This season, Kyle Shanahan has "his" guys; Jerick McKinnon, Weston Richberg, Dante Pettis, Mike McGlinchey, and of course his franchise quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. 49ers DC Robert Saleh also has a full season with his guys; Reuben Foster, Solomon Thomas, Akhello Witherspoon, Fred Warner, and one of the biggest additions this offseason in Richard Sherman. It seems like everyone has each others back. If it's Richard Sherman buying all the DB's steak dinners, or Adrian Colbert, Jaquiski Tartt, and Richard Sherman all going to Reuben Foster's court hearing for support, or even Jimmy Garoppolo playing Fortnite with George Kittle and Trent Taylor. It seems like there is magic going on in this organization.
The 49ers have been training with military seals to become even tighter and the last time a team trained with Navy seals it turned out pretty well (Falcons in 2016). While this was organized by Kyle Shanahan, this culture all begins with John Lynch. He is the most genuine person in the NFL and from day one has wanted a winning locker room. He makes brotherhood a priority and is willing to do anything to make this team the best. The 49ers are faithful and they will remain this way until the end of time. The 49ers have something going special on and I'm all in for it.
